Migelly & Jessie

I love nothing better than photographing a wedding and when Migelly contacted me and asked could I photograph his wedding…well I was honoured and humbled. Migelly was marrying the love of his life Jessie..they made a pact way back that they would marry when they reached 25 years of age. Migelly & Jessie were going to be married at a very familiar place to me, Old Petrie Town.

So their big day rolled around…Early in the day storm clouds gathered and dumped rain upon us, I must admit I was panicking, rain at a wedding can be very romantic, so I maddly went about buying umbrellas..thinking what we could do, however the rain was more torrential than a gentlely fall from the sky…and wet brides..well they dont exactly look glamorous.

The day rolled on we had fine weather than rain, fine weather then rain again..however importantly Migelly and Jessie were married in between the rain showers and I captured some beautiful images of a couple who are so deeply in love..it brought a tear to my eye…it reminded me of the first wedding I shot  some 5 years ago. When two people are deeply in love it is hard to take bad images. Here is a selection from their day…Congratulations Migelly & Jessie.

    Somerhouse Styled Interiors

A recent assignment was for Jane Sadler, Interior Designer  to take some shots of the interiors she has restyled. I had recently purchased Tamron’s 15-30 F2.8 lens so I was keen to put it through its paces. I decided to shoot tethered so Jane could see on screen what she was getting, as I knew we may not have a chance to reshoot. I used some off camera flash to take away any shadows. Overall I am pleased with the lens performance and the shots I obtained. It is always pleasing when the idea in your head makes it out into the camera. A couple of my shots are here on this blog but check out Somerhouse Styled Interiors web site for all the images and if you are wanting some Interior styling contact Jane Phone 0409 874 010 or Email:jane@summerhousestyledinteriors.com.au

The Meraki – Artist’s Model NSFW

So I have neglected my blog for sometime,  now it is time to catch  up with what I have been up to. My first catch up is from  a recent shoot with The Meraki – Artist’s Model. I decided to do a sunrise at Nudgee at low tide…I had an old suit case, some white material and a willing model as well as a Glass Globe Vase I bought at Kmart or Target, I don’t remember which store.

I had no real plan but The Meraki – Artist’s Model knew the area well and took me out onto the mudflats…and we decided to just have a play..we had kinda missed the sunrise but the light was glorious..the puddles created unreal reflections…

Overall Im very happy with what we created in a morning of just play….Thank you The Meraki -Artist’s Model.

    Shay in Sydney

I had shot Shay in Brisbane and as I was on business in Sydney thought I would see if I could get a quick shoot in with Shay. Nothing really planned thought we would make use of the Hotel room and see what we come up with. I felt black and white suited the images, some were taken with natural light others were lit by off camera flash through an umbrella…nothing fancy…but I believe I got some delightful images….Enjoy 🙂

    Nepal 2014

So I have neglected my blog for nearly a whole year..naughty Steve…so what have I been up to?

I thought I would share some of my photos from my trip to Nepal in October 2014. I really enjoyed myself and from the Hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, to Pokhara, Jomsom, Kagbeni, to Lukla and making our way to Namche Bazaar hoping to get a glimpse of Everest. This is just a short selection of photos of a truly beautiful country and it’s people. Enjoy!
